Tree Above Haulashore Island Original Pastel

Tree Above Haulashore Island Original Pastel

Regular price £1,125.00
Sale price £1,125.00

Nestled off the coast of Nelson, Haulashore Island is more than a curious creation—it’s a place where land, sea, and story collide. Formed when the ‘Cut’ was blasted through the Boulder Bank to let ships sail into Nelson’s harbour, this man-made island holds the spirit of transformation.

In this piece, the island takes on a new life rounded forms, playful light, and cheery colour bring the scene into a childlike dreamscape. It’s Haulashore… but as if remembered through wonder.

Perfect for those drawn to magical coastlines, bright moods, and the sense that even geography can have a playful heart.

How Your Original Will Arrive and What to Do Next

This is an original artwork, created by the artists hands using soft pastels, a natural medium composed of pure pigment, clay, and a binder. These pastels (Rembrandt and Sennelier) are lightfast, permanent, and chemical-free, offering a life time of colour and depth.

“Degas used soft pastels in his ballerina series (1880s), the originals remain as vibrant today as the day he painted them.”

Because of its value and delicacy, the artwork is not framed before delivery. This reduces the carbon footprint as well as ensures:

  • The surface is protected from pressure and vibration during shipping

  • You can work with a trusted local framer to choose the right frame for your space and style

  • The artwork stays in its best possible condition until it’s safely behind glass

Please do not attempt to flatten or frame the artwork yourself. Originals must be carefully unrolled and mounted by a professional framer to avoid creasing, smudging, or damage.

This is the beginning of your role as its curator, the artwork has travelled from the artist’s hands to yours. Let it be framed with care and intention, ready to hold its place in your world.
